Phil-Am Foods (Staten Island)

Phil-Am Foods is a Filipino grocery store specializing in Filipino food products and services, including money remittances, catering, air cargo and balikbayan box shipments.

Phil-Am first opened in Travis on Victory Blvd in 1985. In 1989, the store moved to its current location on Tompkins Avenue in Rosebank.

*** Note that this shop is NOT related to Jersey City’s Phil-Am Food, which has been the subject of various lawsuits.

Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 7:30pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 7:00pm
Sunday: 9:00am – 5:00pm

“The community has gotten bigger from when I opened in 1985,” said owner Felix Imperial.

According to the 2010 Census, 5,224 Staten Islanders identify as Filipino, and they live in neighborhoods across the Island, with the largest group, of 948, in the New Springville and Travis area.
